THE NIGHT

Steffan Strandberg

Released

This is a story from the director’s childhood – and his request for his mom’s love. Instead of choosing him and his little brother, she chose alcohol. The story takes place during the last summer with mom. The summer everyone was confronted with the hard reality- and nothing would be ever the same. The story is told through his ten year old eyes. A combination of 8mm family archive, animation, old stills and footage is used to achieve an emotional journey close to a coming of age novel. Today as a grown up, Steffan’s mother is dead and director confronts the bitterness and inner turmoil that still haunts him.
